Ejemplo 1: Trabajar en un Call Center
Working at a call center is an interesting but demanding job.I usually spend 8 hours on the phone, on a regular day I can take up to 240 calls, that´s an average of 30 calls every hour.I work for a bank, it has branches all over the country, so we get thousands of calls from our customers, the bank offers savings accounts, checking accounts, home loans, mortgages and car loans.Most of the customers call because they want to know their account balances, some customers call to ask about pending payments, other customers want to apply for a home equity loan.There are some angry customers who call because they have issues with their accounts. Our job is to help them, in a prompt and polite way, no matter how angry they can be.It is a demanding but rewarding job!
Ejemplo 2: Nuestra Nueva Casa
My wife and I want to buy a house, we currently live in a small apartment, but we need to move soon.We want to find the perfect house, we want to have kids so it needs to be big enough for us.There is one house that we really like, we have an appointment with the realtor today, we think that house is the one!It is a big house, it has 4 rooms, 2 bathrooms, a big living room, an open concept kitchen and a nice yard.The walls are white but we want to paint them gray, we also expect to do some other changes. We expect to make a great deal, we can´t wait to move!

Hi, I´m Miguel, I´m 50 and I love teaching.I´m from Colombia, I live in a small town located in the coffee zone.I live with my wife, she is 48, she works at the local mall.There are a lot of things that we like to do, we love to spend time together, now with the restrictions due to the pandemic we don´t go out so often, but we still share a lot together.We have a pet, her name is Antonia, she is a beagle, she´s 10, she’s so lovely and friendly. I teach English but I also work as a web designer, I also study Osteopathy and practice Japanese traditional arts.Life is great when you do what you love!
Ejemplo 4: Mi práctica de Shodo
I practice Shodo, it is Japanese calligraphy. It is art an also a way of meditation.When you see Shodo for the first time you may think It consists in drawing Japanese characters on rice paper, but it´s more than that. It is a way to focus on the present, it helps you to relax and gain self awareness.I practice every day. I grab my brushes, some sheets of rice paper and the ink bars.I have a special place to do my Shodo practice. It is a quiet place in my house.I sit, relax and breathe, then I grab one ink bar and start preparing the ink for my practice. You have to rub the ink bar against a stone called suzuri, you need to add a little bit of water in order to mix it with the ink stick.The process of making ink is soothing itself.Then i take a piece of paper, put it on the desk, next I take my brush, there is a special way to hold it, you need to breathe in a calm and steady way the whole time.I choose a character and then I start, I draw it slowly, when you practice Shodo you need to focus on your breathing, so while I write the character I check my body, my posture, I know I need to be relaxed.Once I finish one character I start all over again, I do this for over one hour.The goal of this kind of practice, if any, is to be mindful of my present, to gain self awareness, to learn how to stay relaxed always.I love Shodo!
